Trilobe Château Trente-Deux: A Burgundy Dial for the French Maison
A Toast to French Craftsmanship
Trilobe, the Parisian independent watchmaker founded by Gautier Massonneau in 2018, has unveiled a striking new iteration of its Trente-Deux model. The Château Trente-Deux features a deep burgundy dial, a tribute to the prestigious wine region of Burgundy, reinforcing the brand's Gallic identity. This release arrives in time for Geneva Watch Days 2026, adding a vibrant new chapter to the Trente-Deux line.
Design and Case
The Château Trente-Deux retains the robust yet elegant case architecture of its predecessor. Measuring 39.5mm in diameter and just 10.15mm thick, the seven-part stainless steel case combines brushed, microblasted, and mirror-polished finishes. The fluted bezel and crown guard add a sporty touch, while the sapphire crystal and caseback ensure durability. The watch offers 50 metres of water resistance, which is modest for a sports model but adequate for everyday wear.
The integrated bracelet, which underwent 120 design iterations, features satin-brushed links with mirror-polished central links that taper towards the folding clasp. This attention to detail underscores Trilobe's commitment to comfort and style.
The Burgundy Dial
The dial is the centerpiece of this new release. Its rich burgundy hue is achieved through a sunray finish that radiates from the off-center figure-eight layout. The minutes and seconds are displayed on rotating discs, with the minutes featuring a grained texture and the seconds adorned with a snailed pattern and a Clous de Paris guilloché center. The hours are indicated on a peripheral rotating ring with a grained background, matching the minutes disc. This harmonious mix of textures and colors captures the essence of a fine Burgundy wine.
In-House X-Nihilo Movement
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the X-Nihilo calibre is Trilobe's first manufacture movement. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is decorated with frosted 5N rose gold, giving it a warm, luxurious appearance. With 218 components and 34 jewels, it showcases contemporary architecture and includes shock protection for reliability.
Price and Availability
The Trilobe Château Trente-Deux is priced at EUR 17,500 (excluding tax). The first 100 pieces will be delivered with a bottle of Grand Cru wine, a fitting accompaniment to this vinous-inspired timepiece. The reference number is 3201BDX.
Buying Tips
- Consider the limited first 100 pieces if you appreciate the Grand Cru wine bonus.
- Verify authenticity through authorized dealers, as Trilobe's unconventional display may attract counterfeits.
- Check the case size and lug-to-lug length to ensure a comfortable fit for your wrist.
Authenticity Notes
Genuine Trilobe watches feature the signature rotating rings and a high level of finishing. The X-Nihilo movement should have a unique architecture and be marked with Trilobe's name. Always purchase from reputable sources and ask for the warranty card.
