Christopher Ward Launches C60 Trident Biscay Dive Watch Series
Christopher Ward Expands Trident Lineup with Biscay Collection
British watchmaker Christopher Ward has unveiled a fresh addition to its renowned Trident family: the C60 Trident Biscay. This new series is set to phase out the C65 Aquitaine, bringing a blend of vintage charm and contemporary engineering to the dive watch segment. The collection takes design cues from two key inspirations: the classic skin divers of the 1960s and the Bay of Biscay, the Atlantic gulf nestled between Spain's northern coast and France's western shore—not to be confused with Biscayne Bay in Florida. The result is a trio of timepieces: the C60 Trident Biscay Automatic, the C60 Trident Biscay GMT, and the C60 Trident Biscay Bronze.
C60 Trident Biscay Automatic
The entry point of the collection is the Automatic model, offered in 39mm and 42mm stainless steel cases. It features Christopher Ward's signature Light-catcher case design, slimmed down to a mere 11mm in profile, and is topped with a box sapphire crystal for a retro touch. The dial is a standout, with a granular texture, minimal branding, and applied Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions. Color options include black, sand with black accents, and black with red accents. The Automatic is priced from ,870.
C60 Trident Biscay GMT
For travelers, the GMT variant adds a fourth hand to track a second time zone, complemented by a bi-directional rotating bezel in two-tone aluminum. The bezel undergoes a surface-hardening treatment, achieving a 250HV hardness that Christopher Ward claims is 67% tougher than untreated aluminum. Unlike the Automatic, the GMT features a framed date window at 6 o'clock in place of the numeral. Available in black/red and sand/blue combinations, the GMT starts at ,995.
C60 Trident Biscay Bronze
The most distinctive member of the family is the Bronze edition, available exclusively in a 39mm case. It introduces a marine-grade aluminum bronze alloy (CuAl10Ni5Fe4) to Christopher Ward's lineup, containing roughly 10% aluminum, 5% nickel, and 4% iron. This material was selected for its exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion, wear, and erosion, making it ideal for a dive watch. The Bronze model comes in brown or green dial variants and is priced from ,095.
Movements and Specifications
Powering the collection are COSC-certified movements from Swiss manufacturer Sellita. The Automatic runs on the SW300-1 with a 56-hour power reserve, while the GMT employs the SW330-2. The Bronze model uses the SW300-1 b. All three watches offer 200 meters of water resistance and are coated with Christopher Ward's custom-pigmented Super-LumiNova Grade X1 BL for excellent low-light visibility.
Strap and Bracelet Options
Each model can be paired with a variety of straps, including the new Hybrid strap and Vintage Oak leather strap. The steel versions are also available on Christopher Ward's Bader or Consort bracelets, providing versatility for different styles and occasions.
Availability and Buying Tips
A selection of the C60 Trident Biscay collection is currently available, with additional configurations expected to roll out over the coming months. When purchasing, ensure you buy from authorized dealers to guarantee authenticity and warranty coverage. For replica enthusiasts, note that genuine Christopher Ward watches feature precise finishing, COSC certification, and serial numbers—details that are often overlooked in counterfeits.
